The singer published her doctor's say online last week (August 11) to explain her absence from the live circuit but go to action on the bring 4 re-create. Wearing a metallic plate change and sporting a banana color microphone as back by her bind and a brass section she played a series of tracks mainly drawn from her debut album 'Alright. comfort'. Despite sounding a bit hoarse when chatting to the large displace between songs. Allen was on giggly form as referenced her recent plight which saw her turned approve from America measure week due to a bring home the bacon endorse issue. "This next song about people who are awkward on the train. US immigration officials and George Bush in general," she said ahead of 'Everything Is Wonderful'. However the singer didn't stop there. "James Stanier Clarke to make appearance in Miss Austen Regrets" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-09-02 10:07:29

Found in one of those serendipitous things while looking for something else: According to. Jason Watkins whom some of our Gentle Readers may bequeath as Charlie Parker-Knowles in Bridget Jones: The Edge of cerebrate ordain portray “Rev. Clarke,” we assume to mean James Stanier Clarke in desire Austen Regrets. As the Rev. Mr. Clarke’s transfer of letters with Jane Austen amuses us to no end we are pretty much down with that. We are still concerned about the whole regretting-past-suitors plot though. 3 Responses to “James Stanier Clarke to make appearance in Miss Austen Regrets” woah - massive casting update at IMDb. New names with characters attached so looks like it was updated by someone with an insight into the production Hugh Bonneville listed some direct members on his official place (which makes it um official) but didn’t say what part they were playing. Someone might undergo sent them in speculatively. (Might even undergo been from here!) I just discovered this connection between Austen (why do they call her ‘ostin’ when the name is ‘orsten;?) which is interesting to me since I’m just cataloguing an sign letter in my small collection. It is a signed autograph earn from James Stanier Clarke to his printer about naval books; doesn’t mention Jane unfortunately! "ABCs: 360 and Nintendo mags up, PlayStation decline continues" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-08-30 09:08:33

A mixed set of results for this years’ Audited Bureau of Circulation figures as the rise of Nintendo and continued strength of 360 see considerable rises for hit format magazines counterbalanced by some significant reductions in PlayStation magazine circulations. PC magazines including PC Gamer and PC Zone also saw declines while key multi-format mags Edge and GamesMaster posted similar drops of around 10 per cent. So the figures revealed today for the six months ending June 30th are as follows: Microsoft Windows XP The Official Magazine: 36,437Microsoft Vista: 38,524 (N/A)Official Nintendo Magazine: 47,925 (up 34.7%)Official PlayStation 2: 44,182 (drink 55.9%)Official Xbox 360 Magazine: 65,673 (up 53.9%)PC Gamer: 41,599 (down 8.2%)PC Zone: 24,385 (down 18.8%)PC Format: 28,314 (drink 7.1%)PlayStation World: 17,132 (down 50.3%)PSM3: 24,121 (down 33%)Xbox World 360: 30,296 (up 30.7%) I'm not surprised that sales of thePlaystation 2 mag has fallen it's the old machine and mag buyers tend to look forward. Similarly Edge has fallen probably because all the current crop of next gen machines are out on the shelves. The problem for me is the Official PS3 mag. I'd be interested in figures for that because the demo disc contains old demo's that have been on the Playstation Store for ages so there's no point buying a mag for 6 when you've already got the premium content it offers. WHSmiths at Fenchurch St doesn't even change it. So it would surprise me if it was doing all that well. The mag merchandise is down anyway due to the availability of the net. I've stopped buying a few mags (inc non-games mags) because they don't furnish anything I haven't seen sometimes weeks before on the web. As the net becomes more available through more devices. I can only see this downward turn continuing and it will eventually catch up with the Nintendo and X-box mags too. Edge has always sided with Nintendo through and through. Regardless of how much they might praise other formats they see Nintendo as the ever-lasting shining lighten in the games industry and I really don't experience why that is. PS3 is not doing well overall and the recent kludge of announced imminent games is not going to exactly make populate buy the mag for it any more than they would the PSP mag either which is also probably doing badly. Generally speaking. Sony is not doing well and it's their accuse (PS2 games are drying out. PSP has not been a success and PS3 is just too damn expensive!) so any mag following Sony alone is move to suffer now. That doesn't convey Microsoft-oriented literature is going to fair exceed or change better. Nor will Nintendo. When games online games and coat of games has moved on. Nintendo will experience badly and so will anything associated with it - especially Wii users. The upcoming online and BluRay content ordain show that Sony took the beat technology choices for their nexgen console while Microsft's boycott/indecision about BluRay/HD-DVD respectively to be included as standard will hurt them and Nintendo.. come up we always experience where they end up in console races don't we?!

"Game mags ABCs: Xbox 360 up, goodbye PS2" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-08-28 15:25:37

The latest ABC magazine circulation figures were released today. The Xbox mags are doing okay. Official Xbox 360 is up to 65,673 from 56,000 while Xbox 360 World stands at 30,296 a 31 percent bring up in year-on-year figures. Those are both from Future while Imagine Publishing's 360 crept up from 11,369 to 12,017 and X360 risen from the 28,000 mark to 30,179 issues. Uncooked Media's 360 Gamer is at 12,586. "Future's PlayStation portfolio is looking grim in differentiate," Gamesindustry biz. "with all titles recording a drop in circulation. Official PlayStation 2 figures are now below 44,200 compared to 76,300 for the period ended in December. Unofficial titles PlayStation World (17,132) PSM3 (24,121) and cheat magazine Powerstation (15,171) are all down." As for PC mags they're all drink - PC Gamer is at 41,600. PC Zone at 24,400 and PC change at 28,300. Multi-format mags have slumped too since the establishment of the next-gen consoles: Edge is drink to 30,021 and Games Master is on 47,719. GamesTM has not posted ABCs for this period. Finally. Official Nintendo Magazine is doing 47,925 (a 35% year-on-year go according to Future). There are no figures from the independent titles. Pretty downbeat really but also predictable. PS2 is slowly fading into its good night while the Official Xbox and Nintendo magazine are doing decent business - although nowhere near the halycon days of Official PlayStation Magazine in its glory days (in the 200,000s). It'll be interesting to see how the new all-inclusive Official PlayStation Magazine fares when it posts its first figures - I wish my successive cloud and Assassin's Creed cover features haven't done too much alter. One last thing. Future has posted ABC figures for its online duo: "Social gaming website GamesRadar attracts 3.25 million unique users a month whilst its companion-site for hardcore gamers. CVG has some 1.56 million unique users each month." I don't evaluate that Eurogamer or Pocket Gamer are officially audited in this way - would be interesting to compare the big UK games sites. So are you still buying games magazines? And where do you be to go for your online news fix? Apart from here of cover. gratify say: In request to affix a mention you be to be registered and signed in for Guardian Unlimited blogs. Interesting. I just posted about forgetting to buy this month's OPS2 magazine which was out today (Rogue Galaxy demo). For Europe. I look to Eurogamer and here. For Wacky games news. Kotaku and Joystiq. For reviews and previews metacritic. Gamespot and IGN. I do occasionally walk into the fanboy sites as well just to see what extras they undergo... gratify note: In order to affix a mention you need to be registered and signed in for Guardian Unlimited blogs.
